Abstract

Civic education plays a significant role in the development ofa democratic civil society. It is a process that among others is to prepare pupils for active participation in social and political life by providing them with knowledge and skills development as well as training attitudes aimed at proper functioning in a modern democratic society. An important role in the whole process of civic education is played by the teacher who especially in the initial stage of education should take active and responsible care of both the intellectual growth and social development of the young person.
