Abstract

Empathic attitudes the issue import ant from the point of view of education and integrative and inclusive education, relating to the situation of students with special educational needs in inclusive education from the point of view of its basic subject: students and teachers. The author presents the theoretical justifications for inclusive education, argues on the importance of support and assistance offered to the child, meeting his or her special needs, including the empathic sensi-tivity of its subjects in helping situations. Working with a child with special educational needs, with a disability requires a special preparation of barriers and limitations, but also certain predis-positions of understanding, acceptance and “empathy”, or empathic understanding. The author’s own research confirms the particular importance of empathy in including children with special educational needs, with disabilities in inclusive schools.
