The article raises the issue of health apps for smartphones or tablets that are created to support long-term changes in health–related behaviour, thus improving overall health. Health related apps have a wide range of uses. They can be used to monitor one’s health or level of physical fitness, measure the travelled distance, monitor heart rate, count burned calories. These applications motivate users to change their behaviour and aspire to healthy lifestyle. They play an increasingly important role in daily life, and therefore they hold a potential for use in health promotion.Downloads
