Abstract

The study presents the results of the author’s research into the relation between organizational culture as perceived by employees and their assessment of trust and its correlates as components of the organizational climate. The assumption about the relation between factors determining the organizational climate and the type of organizational culture became the basis for undertaking the present research. It was recognized that the features of organizational culture influence the way employees think about the socio-psychological aspects of their work, especially about trust and its correlates. A set of variables used in the research was derived from the tradition of trust research. The results confirmed the existence of the predicted dependencies. In particular, they showed that the hierarchical-type culture can have a very negative impact on the organizational climate and organizational effectiveness.
