Article submission

What to report:

Original, previously unpublished, non-submitted articles, reviews, reports,

source material are accepted for publication:

- thematically related to the profile of the journal,

- making a significant contribution to the development of Polish and/or worldwide research on sacred art,

- sent exclusively to the editorial office of "Sacrum et Decorum", and

- edited in accordance with the principles of publishing ethics and bibliographical notation

In what form:

An article in the 'Studies' section - should be up to 60,000 characters with spaces or 20 typed pages; in exceptional cases - with prior agreement with the editorial team - an increase in the number of characters or pages is permissible.

A page of standardised typescript contains 30 lines of text

with approx. 60 characters per line (approx. 1800 characters per page).

An article in the 'Materials' section - should be between 20,000 and 50,000 characters including spaces or up to 20 typed pages.

An article in the 'Miscellanea'section - should contain between 10,000 and 20,000 characters with spaces or up to 10 typed pages.

Reports, reviews, other source material, In memoriams, information about books and artistic events - should be between 5,000 and 10,000 characters with spaces or up to five typed pages.

In addition, each type of article should include:

* an abstract - a maximum of 900 characters (approximately half a page of standardised typescript),

* key words - five or six words,

* a separate bibliography,

* author information - the information should include the following details: name, surname, title or degree, place of work, contact details - email address, telephone number and ORCID number;

Format

- manuscript in Microsoft Word,
- manuscript title - up to 20 words,
- recommended font - Times New Roman, 12 pt,
- line spacing - 1.5 lines,
- text in one column.

Cover letter

Each submitted manuscript should be accompanied by a cover letter. It should be concise and explain why the content of the article is relevant and why it fits within the scope of the journal. You should confirm that neither the manuscript nor any part of its content is currently under consideration or published in another journal.

The editors of 'Sacrum et Decorum' do not require all authors of a research paper to sign a cover letter at the time of submission, nor do they impose an order on the list of authors.

Abbreviations

The journal requires the use of standard abbreviations only. Abbreviations should be defined in brackets the first time they appear in the abstract, main text and figure or table captions, and used consistently thereafter. Consistency of abbreviations should be ensured throughout the article. Keep abbreviations to a minimum.

When and where to report:

We accept texts on a rolling basis - via the OJS platform or via the mailbox: sacrumetdecorum@ur.edu.pl.

Not allowed:

Do not send the manuscript elsewhere while it is under consideration in the journal Sacrum et Decorum. If the manuscript contains personal information, a written statement of consent must be provided from each person quoted. Email consent is acceptable.
