Fighting with words - fighting for words in the political discourse

Authors

  • Joanna Golonka Uniwersytet Rzeszowski

Abstract

The basis of this essay is the simple consideration that people with different (political) attitudes will talk differently about the same topic or the same event and will also name and characterize things, facts and persons differently, A detailed analysis of $2 newspaper articles of one single day (6.04.2009) confirms this observation. It is a description of five selected linguistic aspects, e.g. the use of various negated expressions.
