After regaining independence, Poland struggled with many legal problems in the internal and external spheres, which needed to be immediately settled. This task was difficult due to the situation in the country, where several political centers made efforts to implement their own concepts of ensuring the internal security of the state. In interwar Poland, several organizational changes, including changes to the political police, were made. During the period in question, it was reorganized several times and operated under different names. The aim of this article is to discuss the organizational changes that have taken place in the political police and an attempt to assess the influence of the political police on state security.
