Use and protection of the symbols of local government units

Abstract

The article is an analysis of legal regulations concerning the symbols of local government units. The main symbol is a herb that is part of the intangible cultural heritage, the local community through participation in heritage coat of arms can realize their cultural rights. The article presents the legal basis for the establishment of coats of arms and, in particular, take the problem of the coat of arms and its protection in Polish law.
