The paper presents the main theses of the authors of the monograph edited by E. Mączyńska and P. Pysza Social Market Economy and European Values published by PWE, Warsaw, 2019. It shows that the return in economic debates to reflect on the functionality of the deposit of ordoliberal values against contemporary challenges and development threats is legitimate and can contribute to overcoming the current euroscepticism and the crisis of European values. In the opinion of the author of this study, however, it is necessary to reach deeper into the integral vision of man, so that the social relations of solidarity do not become too weak and superficial, and the possibilities of using freedom do not pose a threat to personal and social security.Downloads
