Abstract

Sustainable development of logistics in the food industry requires the implementation of Industry 4.0 technologies. These technologies will help improve efficiency with the maintenance of high quality and food safety. Optimizing logistics processes with cyber-physical systems also means reducing costs, especially transportation processes, reducing food waste, flexible production with resource efficiency, reducing carbon emissions. Green and sustainable logistics using innovative technologies should be a fundamental component of a closed-loop economy. This article presents examples of technologies to achieve sustainable and green logistics in the food industry.
