Abstract

Russia's aggression against the free and independent state of Ukraine has opened a new chapter in the history of Central and Eastern Europe. This attack resulted in a huge refugee crisis in Poland. Many Polish institutions and organizations, including the Polish Army, are involved in helping refugees from Ukraine. In the Podkarpackie Voivodeship, one of such military units was the 3rd Podkarpacka Territorial Defense Brigade in Rzeszów. Helping refugees from Ukraine and ensuring the safety of Poles were the priorities of the activities carried out by the 3rd PBOT. 3 PBOT supported about 35 reception points for refugees, mobilizing about 600 soldiers for this task every day. During the operation, 20 places of temporary stay of refugees were secured. Professional actions of 3 BOT influenced the mitigation of the effects of the migration crisis that arose after Russia's attack on Ukraine.
