New challenges in Austrian migrantion policy

However Austria has the historical characteristics of a migratory state and was famous for supporting refugees in the past, after 2015 Austria adopted a tighter and decisive stance towards migration policy at the forum of UN, EU and Council of Europe and criticized both the UN Migration Pact and the European Union Migration Pact. Austria's migration policy is based on the policy of stopping illegal migration and protecting both the external and internal borders of the European Union. The migration crisis began to dominate Austrian political discourse and increased the popularity of the Freedom Party of Austria.
