Actions of the Police of the Podkarpackie Voivodeship against security threats caused by the refugee crisis in 2022

Abstract

The refugee crisis caused by Russian invasion of Ukraine on February 24^th, 2022, had a significant impact on public security and increased concerns about the ability to provide personal protection not only to those crossing the border, but also to the residents of Poland. This publication attempts to characterize the main directions of action taken by the police of the Podkarpackie Voivodeship in response to this situation in the border region. The analysis covers the year 2022 - the first year of the conflict. It includes police statistical data related to various areas of activity, as well as data on the state of crime during this period compared to previous and the following years.
