Factors Affecting Communication in Multicultural Education

Abstract

The paper analyses factors affecting communication in the educational environment. The study is focused on communication styles and skills in the teacher’s work. Then the attention is paid to the intercultural communication within the content of curriculum and its effectiveness in the learning process as well as the factors of gender differences in communication are discussed. The paper is written within a theoretical framework, its core content is based on two research projects coordinated by the authors in the Slovak Republic.
