Perception of the Police by Residents of the Podkarpackie Voivodeship – Results of Empirical Research

Abstract

The aim of the article is to present the perception of the Police by the residents of the Podkarpackie Voivodeship. The publication focuses on explaining the concept of safety and the responsibilities of the Police in ensuring security. Attention is drawn to the wide range of tasks performed by police officers, from patrol activities and crime prevention to educating the public on safety principles. The article is based on quantitative research conducted on a sample of 1,503 residents of Podkarpackie in 2023. The study participants represented diverse demographic groups, allowing for a comprehensive understanding of social perceptions and opinions. The findings of the article may be useful not only for the Police but also for other institutions responsible for public safety as well as political and social decision-makers in the region.
