The presented article aims to highlight the specifics of the Russian occupation of certain areas of the Kharkiv region in 2022 (from the moment of the Russian invasion, which began on February 24, until the liberation of these territories in September 2022). Through an analysis of publications in mass media and social networks, the characteristics of collaboration and resistance in the mentioned areas were examined. It was established that despite the involvement of local collaborators, the Russian occupiers did not entrust them with key positions in the occupation administration. The resistance of the local population took various forms – from acts of civil disobedience and the distribution of propaganda materials to the formation of partisan units. The study of this issue contributes to a more complete and comprehensive presentation of the course of the Russo-Ukrainian war in all its aspects.
