Disinformation in social media is one of the key challenges of the modern world. In an era of widespread internet access, false information can spread at an alarming rate, reaching millions of users and shaping their perception of reality. Undoubtedly, an effective fight against disinformation requires the cooperation of state institutions, technology companies, and social media users. Legal regulations and media literacy education play a crucial role in this process. Equally important is the promotion of fact-checking tools and raising users' awareness of manipulation techniques and the mechanisms behind the spread of disinformation. The aim of this article is to present definitions, examples, and methods of combating disinformation in social media. The study employs the method of literature analysis, including a review of available scientific sources and examples from social media platforms.
