Abstract

The aim of this article is to analyse the use of platform X as a tool of political communication by candidates running for parliamentary seats in the 2023 elections. The study employs both quantitative and qualitative content analysis of posts published on platform X by politicians. While, the aim of the quantitative analysis is to determine how many politicians from each electoral committee used platform X in campaign, the qualitative analysis focuses on identifying the contents of the posts. For this purpose, it analyses the accounts of three politicians with the highest number of followers from each electoral committee. The research covers the period from October 1 to October 13, 2023. The findings indicate that platform X was used mostly by candidates representing mainstream political parties. Moreover, it was less popular than traditional means of communication.
