The article addresses the perception and social significance of public spaces in Rzeszów, focusing on their role in shaping urban life and identity. Based on a survey conducted among students of the University of Rzeszów, the study examines which urban areas are most valued and what types of spaces are lacking. The results show that the Market Square and the Wisłok River surroundings are considered the most attractive public spaces, combining recreational, social, and cultural functions. Respondents emphasized the shortage of recreational, sports, and entertainment facilities, while noting that commercial infrastructure is fully sufficient. Rzeszów’s public space is generally assessed as functional but lacking innovation.
