The article presents projects for transport infrastructure construction initiatives of the Three Seas (3SI) countries, which are part of the transport infrastructure development of the EU as a whole. It is worth noting the geopolitical changes being played out by the major world powers, redefining spheres of influence. Against this backdrop, the efforts of the 3SI countries are evident, as they seek to change the direction of transport infrastructure development from north to south Europe, moving away from the Cold War east-west alignment. The 3SI hopes for a dynamic transformation and the emergence of a balance of power in which an improved transatlantic relationship takes its rightful place, of which the Central European region will be an important element. The author adopts an institutional approach and an analysis based on neorealist theory. This will allow for an assessment of the role and importance of the Three Seas initiatives for the development of Central European and EU countries.
