It is widely accepted that alternative voting methods, which include postal voting, guarantee a more complete implementation of the rule of generality of elections and have an impact on increasing voter turnout. Nevertheless, our legislator, over the more than decade of implementation of postal voting in Poland, seemed to notice its possible defects, disparaging its advantages. However, this didn`t prevent this solution from being used instrumentally in the pandemic situation of 2020, while proving how useful it can be. Unfortunately, this didn`t bring reflection among politicians that the universality of postal voting should be reintroduced. The deliberations are aimed at presenting, on the basis of an analysis of changes in the law in the field of postal voting, how the electoral law has regressed in the protection of citizens' electoral rights.
