Defense education and its effects on the example of civil population behavior. Experiences and conclusions from the war in Ukraine

Defense education is the entire system of didactic and educational activities of all institutions that influence the development of human attitudes, skills and behavior, i.e. schools, families, the army, the mass media and social organizations. Education has quite a large impact on people's behavior as a result of crisis situations. The main goal of the article is to assess the effects of implementing defense education on the example of the behavior of the civilian population in Ukraine during the war. The analysis is aimed at identifying both positive and negative aspects regarding the knowledge and skills of the civilian population, especially in areas such as knowledge of notification and alarm signals, the number and equipment of shelters, and psychological support.
