Abstract

The aim of the article is to determine the techniques of instrumentalization of worldview issues by political groups in the Third Polish Republic. The conducted research has shown that subordinating ideological issues to other political goals is a practice typical of many political groups in Poland, and can even be said to have universal application. Instrumentalization techniques include at least: 1. triggering a political debate on ideological issues in order to cause internal conflicts among political opponents; 2. presenting oneself in electoral competition as a spokesman for a specific worldview (including religion) in order to win over people who support they identify with it; 3. introducing antagonizing projects of political or legal changes that attract public opinion, motivated by a specific worldview, the implementation of which, however, is not given any attention; 4. creating the image of an enemy that is supposed to threaten a specific worldview; 5. manipulating the stories of people who are supposedly being harmed by opponents with different worldviews; 6. making worldview demands the subject of negotiations to achieve other, more desirable political goals
