The role of the President of the Republic of Poland in shaping security during the state of emergency in 2021

The unprecedented scale of migratory pressure on the Polish-Belarusian border in 2021, intensified by Russia's demonstration of military force on NATO's eastern flank, was the reason for Poland to use extraordinary legal instruments. In order to confront the new geostrategic realities, the institution of a state of emergency was used. The President of the Republic of Poland has special powers in this respect. The aim of the article was to determine the role of the President of the Republic of Poland in the context of the tasks carried out during the state of emergency, as well as to assess the actions taken in the area of internal security and diplomatic activity in the international arena.
