The text is a result of reflections accumulated over years of creative work, written down in short essays, symbolically titled: Rozpoznanie [Recognition], Kolor [Colour], Człowiek [The human being], Pejzaż[Landscape], W poszukiwaniu piękna [In search of beauty], Wyznanie [A confession], Figura człowieka [The human figure], which touch on the author’s own analyses, emotions and experiences while working in the studio as well as outside it. Like a painting, it also results from the need to share with others. This form of sharing is a kind of emphasis of my interests, including the written and poetic language, an emphasis of how I write about painting and about what is important in life. It could be said that writing about the process of painting a picture is revealing the conversation I have in the studio with myself and the desire to share my silent conversation with others,
in which I lift the curtain of the spiritual mystery of my creative process. The text is therefore not only my personal conversation, but also a conversation with others, it is an attempt to discover the sources of creative inspirations in which the reader can find the author’s image, a very realistic but also symbolic one. Standing in front of the plane of a white canvas, I always attempt to have the last conversation, as in a daily prayer, after which I may no longer experience myself.
