Tasks of the Editorial Board and Council
The task of the editorial team of Sacrum et Decorum is to initiate and support the development of scientific research on Christian sacred art of the 19th-21st centuries in Poland and worldwide. The principles of our editorial practice are set out in the ‘Principles of publication ethics and conduct in cases of dishonesty’.
The editorial board is responsible for:
* the substantive development of the journal;
* the initial selection of submitted articles and making final decisions on publication after the review process has been completed;
* the organisation and evaluation of the review process;
* ethical communication with authors, reviewers and readers;
* organising and implementing the entire publishing process (including substantive and stylistic editing of texts);
* maintaining and enhancing the reputation of the journal in various academic circles.
Affiliated editors assist the editorial board in:
* strengthening the principles of diversity, inclusiveness, and equality by encouraging submissions from researchers from different scientific and cultural backgrounds;
* initiating thematic blocks;
* internal evaluation of submitted texts;
* disseminating information about the journal in various scientific and cultural communities.
The Scientific Council supports the editorial team in the following areas:
* initiating thematic blocks;
* consulting on the evaluation of texts in disputed cases;
* considering appeals against publication decisions;
* resolving disputed issues concerning publication ethics
* disseminating information about the journal in various scientific and cultural circles.
