OGD as a data source in mobile applications

Abstract

OGD are crucial in terms of economic and business value, as well as achieving participatory democracy and civil society. It is enough to provide data sets collected and processed by the public administration in formats enabling their further application to trigger citizen’s creativity on how to exploit them usefully. These sets should be made available on the basis of open licenses so that software (apps) using them are as widely available to citizens as possible. The aim of the article is to show a relatively new channel of obtaining valuable data that can be conveniently used in apps interesting for society.
