The situation of imprisonment, control and deprivation of needs is a significant, exploration of matter, which is a litmus paper for motivation, meaning in life and hope. They constitute a key link in the social inclusion process. This article refers to the unique areas of human functioning in the space of socio-legal structures: in the situation of war and in a situation of imprisonment. The goal is to sensitize to selected areas of specialists' activities and priority activities of social inclusion policy towards a specific category of beneficiaries. Traumatic war experiences do not go into non -existence, as the experience of imprisonment does not go away. They determine life in different ways at its further stages. So the existential question about the meaning of suffering, the meaning of life, dignity, hope and happiness becomes justified. One of the valuable tools in dealing with the threat to the loss of the meaning of life and the despair and hopelessness is the concept of logotherapy developed by Viktor E. Frankl, also called sense therapy. Emotions and reason are two equally important and complementary human poles. From the perspective of our biography, present and future, they determine an intentional action, focused on value and contributing to experienceing meaning - the way to internal freedom.
