Abstract

The author of the research paper focuses on modern forms and directions of public diplomacy, analyzing select activities of Polish diplomatic establishments in Israel, Switzerland, and Great Britain against the background of their foreign counterparts. The issue of the protection of Poles is considered with regard to repute, to counteracting national stereotypes, and to promotion (popularization / dissemination) of Polish culture. The main source of the practices mentioned and discussed on the following pages is a result of direct contact with representatives of the above-mentioned embassies. The analysis conducted makes it possible to outline the contemporary directions of Polish public diplomacy and compare them with the priorities of other countries. The article shows the variety of activities undertaken by individual institutions and the extent of their adaptation to the specificity of a particular country.
