A new dimension of education in the information society

The article presents the development of the information society focusing on its most important features and functions that must be reflected in the field of modern education. On the basis of the presented characteristics, an attempt was made to define a new educational model developed on the basis of the guidelines of the J. Delors Report, which assumes four pillars of knowledge. The mentioned and indicated pillars become a determinant for education in the information society. Practical forms of education were indicated for the developed theoretical model, which allow for its implementation.
