Abstract

The article analyzes the Internet communication channels of local government units in the Silesian Voivodeship in 2023. The main goal was to show to what extent local government units use new media and how they manage to use their potential. And also whether the local government press is being evaporated from local media markets. Using quantitative and qualitative content analysis, it was found that the main communication channels of local governments are Facebook and local government press. Other social media (YouTube, Instagram or Twitter) are metropolitan. Local authorities do not use the potential of new media; content published on social media is not
