The aim of the article is to describe the comparisons of the crisis of democracy in Israel with the Polish situation in the current Israeli public debate – in journalistic and information media with a liberal, left-wing, center-left profile, critical of the judicial reform introduced by the coalition government of Benjamin Netanyahu. In the first part of the publication, we analyze the articles in which Poland appears primarily as a negative reference point. In the second part we illustrate the important presence of Polish representatives of science and journalism in the Israeli public debate. In the last section, we pay attention to the protesting groups in Poland and Israel, asking about the nature of the indirect social bond – although it connects different national groups (Poles and Israelis), they fight for the same democratic values.
