Abstract

The article attempts to recognize and systematize threats to societal security resulting from the phenomenon of gig economy. Realizing the research objective, the focus was on three aspects of societal security: social, development and community, according to the concept of the tripartite of societal security proposed by M. Leszczynski. The theoretical research approach was applied, using general logical research methods and source analysis. It was found that threats can be classified in three main areas: existential threats, development threats and community threats and that these threats are linked in a complex network of cause-effect relationships, in which a given threat can generate or exacerbate others, leading to the emergence of a spiral of negative consequences. The text is a potential basis for empirical research or practical use.
