Abstract

In the face of God’s greatness and perfection, man is still an imperfect being, and understanding God’s Word is related to a predetermined failure. This makes the Holy Scripture a challenge for many researchers. Proving the truthfulness of the content featured in it raises considerable disputes between its interpreters. Although many outstanding theologians, from the Fathers of the Church and well-respected contemporary authority figures try to get a grasp of this unfathomable mystery of the Word of God, they also look at the new aspects in this extraordinary piece of writing. The need of today once again speaks in favor of looking at both these interpretations as well as their interpreters. Currently, more and more often it is women who become the subject of experiencing their own faith with reflection and its formulation, and thus theologizing it. God’s Word contained in the Scriptures is subjected to new analyses taking into account the female experience and the way women describe the world. There emerges a new way of theological thinking from the point of view of women. It seems necessary to respond to the voices of contemporary feminists, and in particular to the direction of thinking that John Paul II refers to as a ”new feminism”.
