From the economic point of view, there are numerous important mineral deposits in Poland within the Natura 2000 network, which provide strategic natural resources. The article discusses aims of the Natura 2000 program in the context of country’s sustained development. Reasons of conflicts between naturalists and miners have been indicated with respect to the protected areas, where mineral deposits can be found. These conflicts are related to the compliance of protected species and habitat requirements with different forms of area usage. The disruption of output or significant reduction may lead to increase in prices or illegal output. In pursuit of environment protection, we may damage it unconsciously because illegal ore extraction from river channels or positioned near the surface may endanger the fauna and flora as well as minerals which are part of the environment. The rational extraction and creative rehabilitation bring new quality to the environment.Downloads
