The main function of school from the earliest times was passing on knowledge and educate future generations as well as develop student’s personalities. With the passage of time and social changes, the tradition of school education was also changed. The school as an institution in the twenty-first century, in addition to the transfer of knowledge and educating students, should also deal with care activities, because only such a situation determines the effectiveness of teaching and education. The article raises very important issues regarding the ways of performing the caring function in the modern school. It shows the legitimacy and the need to include these activities in the functioning of schools. Currently, a lot of space is devoted to the didactic and educational functions of school, while the importance of the caring function is treated quite marginally. Meanwhile, student care is an integral part of education. Every pedagogical process should include teaching/learning, education and childcare.Downloads
