The value of family and professional success and the matching of family and professional roles among women and men from Podkarpacie

Modernity poses many challenges to people. They are required to develop in the professional field, and at the same time encouraged to perform roles such as being a partner, spouse or father, mother. At the same time, everyone is supposed to realize themselves and achieve broadly understood success in life. The aim of this article was to seek an answer to the question of how success in life is understood today. The study involved 191 people from the Podkarpackie Voivodeship, aged 16 – 60. Research tools in the form of a questionnaire "Success and its value" were used in the elaboration of the S. and the Work and Family Matching Questionnaire by Joseph Grzywacz and Brenda Bass prepared by Bogusława Lachowska. The results of the study highlight the importance of family values in the lives of both women and men, and point to the need for a better understanding of the differences in perceptions of work-life balance.
