The phenomenon of truanting in junior high schools – research report

Abstract

Truancy is constantly one of the current risky behaviours at schools. It must be considered also as upbringing difficulty, which affects schoolchildren. The particularly important is to notice the meaning of truancy in the awareness of young people. It is strictly connected with growing up, showing up the disobedience, even protest against common rules. It is also the process of identity forming, very import ant for schoolchildren. Truancy is here divided according to criteria, like: how often? how? in what way? who? and also why? The highlighted theoretical matters were described with own research results. The group of schoolchildren was divided by: gender, location and school rating.
