The history of the journal

Tematy i Konteksty (ISSN: 2299-8365) is a journal having a new title but a long tradition. It is a continuation of periodicals: Research Bulletin of the Univeristy of Rzeszów. Philological Series. The History of Literature (Zeszyty Naukowe Uniwersytetu Rzeszowskiego. Seria Filologiczna. Historia Literatury, published between 2002 and 2011; ISSN: 1643-0522) and Research Bulletin of the Teacher Training College in Rzeszów (Zeszyty Naukowe Wyższej Szkoły Pedagogicznej w Rzeszowie, published between 1991 and 2001; ISSN: 0867-0757). Those two featured articles on history and literature written by representatives of Polish philologists in Rzeszów.

In 2011, 20 years since these two journals were created, the editorial team decided to change the title, as well as to considerably expand its thematic format.

Individual issues of Tematy i Konteksty have the character of monographs. So far, we have published volumes discussing the following: The Great Emigration – The Second Independence Emigration – (E)migration at the End of the 20th Century (2011), The Archives of the Polish Philologist (2012), Poetics Today and Tomorrow (2013), Old-Polish and Enlightenment Religious Literature.
