Abstract

In the studies conducted on the development of notions in children and youth, determination of lexicon or the skills of using the IT notions have not been tackled. Authors mainly made an attempt to determine the vocabulary of technical notions, rarely to determine the level of skills regarding such notions. On the basis of literature describing the development of the notions, it was assumed that similarly to vocabulary, skills of using IT notions may be affected by factors such as: family and local environment in which children live, mass media they have access to, school education and students' gender. The article presents author’s results of studies in the scope of skills with regard to using IT notions by pupils graduating from a primary school.
