Time in the perception of young users of the web

Abstract

The Internet has become a medium which significantly influences human life and social functioning. It has a special place in the lives of the youth. For young people the Internet is a place of forming social relations, studying, entertainment and fun. Contemporary teenagers are the first generation raised during the era of general availability of this medium. The paper addresses the subject of perceiving time on the Internet by young global network users. It presents fragments of the research on the opinions of e-environment among the youth, and refers to linearity and tripartite time on the Internet. The presented results were obtained in surveys and interviews that exhibit the young respondents’ perception of the topic which is the subject matter of the study.
