The article focuses on the poetry and epistolary writings of Adam Szyper (1939–2015). It consists of six parts dealing with: the importance of Jewish memory in the author’s poetry (part 1), three important places (genius loci) in his work: Poland, Israel and the United States (parts 2-4), his returns to Israel (Aliyah) and departures from there (Yoredah), documented in his correspondence (part 5). Part 6, the last part of the article, is a summary, where an attempt is made to determine the status of Szyper in those contexts on the basis of voices of literary criticism.
