The article presents the results of research aimed at solving the research problem: How do el-ementary school students understand the concept of work? Many interesting conclusions have been made. A lot of children at the early childhood education stage have a big problem with giving job and profession related associations. They are difficult concepts for them to explain, but they understand their meaning well. This is evidenced by, for example, drawings made by them, on which almost every one could present several different professions. In addition, the characters in their pictures always had certain characteristics characteristic of a given work, eg. clothes, tools. During the interview, it was noticed that some of the youngest respondents can not properly name professions, alternating the activities performed by these people. The sixth-graders work most often with money and their earning, and naming different professions does not cause the many difficulty.Downloads
