Abstract

The development of the theory and practice of textbook is inextricably linked with the development of the theory of school books, technical theory of teaching and media education. The development of these three specific areas of pedagogical approach is clearly Polish identity and direction of research. The study assumes the primacy of the concept of educational book (compared to the manual) as a publication intended for the school. So far school textbook and the book were identical terms, used interchangeably.
