In order to do this, it is necessary to clarify and analyze the concept of disability. There is also a historical reference to this term in order to conclude that a person with a disability is not only a disabled person, but above all a valuable member of our entire community. The next aim and step of this research paper is to present the data from the previous years concerning the number of students with disabilities studying at universities all over Poland. According to the collected data, every year there are more and more of them, because today's universities are more friendly to a group of people with disabilities, mainly due to effective attempts to eliminate architectural barriers. The third part of this article presents and describes the results of the survey conducted among students of the University of Rzeszów and the analysis of the obtained results. In summary, we formulate conclusions that are significant for the theory and practice of education.
