Abstract

Changes and developments in educational system after 1990’s concern organisation, structure as well as programme. They also include attempts associated with restoring a position of equal partner to family in the process of cooperation with school. Legal regulations give parents the right to co-decide about their children’s education. However, in reality, cooperation between teachers and parents in many schools is far from expectable. Presented study is of theoretical and empirical character. It also attempts to answer the question about defining determinants of parents and teachers’ relation in primary schools. The structure of the study is fixed by the following variables: parental duties in the process of cooperation with teachers, the appearances of parents’ co-decision procedure in school and parents’ initiatives.
