Abstract

The functionality of today's society depends on the availability of new competencies of its members and is closely linkedwiththe idea oflife long learning. Preparation for life long learning begins in the initialtraining, so the school should provide students with both broad technical knowledge base and foundation necessary practical skills, but also universally applicable instrument, which are key skills including communication skills, work with information and figures, working in Team, a life long skill to learn and use these skill screatively. These skills are of course also apply to secondary school teaching technical subjects, and high school graduates.
