Vol. 20 No. 15 (2025): Polish Poetry of the 21st Century – Recognitions, Glosses, Interpretations
The main theme of the new issue of Tematy i Konteksty is Polish poetry of the 21st century. The adopted time frame serves primarily to signal the connections between poetry and contemporary cultural, social, civilizational, and political reality, rather than to arbitrarily set boundaries and divisions. The issue reflects on phenomena and trends in Polish poetry of the last two to three decades, marked not only by distinct generational changes but also by the positioning of authors in relation to a new, transformed cultural, social, civilizational, and political reality. The volume brings together articles that attempt to answer questions about what concerns contemporary poetry, what problems it addresses, what the creators’ relationship to literary tradition is, whether and how the language of poetry is changing, for whom poems are written today, and what moves poets’ imagination.
